New year, new beginnings
Updated: May 6, 2020

This weekend I sit between an end and a new beginning. I finish (almost anyway, I can't quite let go completely!) my lifestyle work and will be starting Monday a new life of the full time student as I take on a PhD researching the effects of telling your life story as part of receiving palliative care. New, exciting & a bit scary.
When I first saw the ad for the scholarship I instantly realised that the process of coming to terms with life through telling your own story is what I do through my art. I knew that even if I didn't get it that it had helped me shape my thinking & my way forward artwise. And now I get to look at the how's & why's & the wherefore's of biography storytelling with other people.
Art & spirituality has been my focus for a long time but I don't think this changes that at all- this opportunity simply expands what art & spirituality might look like with a wider & non-religious focus.
So in this moment of self reflection, I am so pleased to have made new friends in the job that is finishing up, I've so greatly appreciated the experienced of aged care & am deeply surprised at where it has led me! These flowers were just one part of the beaytiful gifts I received this week.
