One a Week Psalm Project Psalm 43 What gives our life meaning? - Nesting: turning space in home. The purpose of nesting is to create a space to live and thrive in. Not about displaying wealth but creating a space in which the inhabitance can truly live, truly relax, truly be inspired in, supported, uplifted, cocooned in… A place to surround yourself with visual images, whether original artwork, prints, or cut out magazine images that inspire, novels that feed you and heirlooms that remind you. If you don’t have these things, find them, make them, collect them. Cut up old clothes, keep dried flowers, print photos, drawings, hang up leaves. Be selective. Be intentional. No junk. Be honest. Make it home. Create a home that makes you smile when you see it. Don’t let it overwhelm you. Find the middle way of making it so. Sometimes it will mean no vacuuming much. Sometimes it will mean not doing the dishes till you have none left. Sometimes it will mean keeping the bed made every day no matter what. Sometimes it will mean making the effort to tidy. Sometimes it will mean sweeping every night. But whatever it is, keep searching for the happy middle way, the way that allows you to live and not be consumed. - Also, I often wonder if my cat is happy.
