Yes, it's entirely my fault not to have done anything before now but I have been a bit distracted.....

And for good reason! This year has been, and I imagine, will continue to be a bit of a whirlwind. At the end of January I left my well established and safe teaching job and decided to thrown my money and my life behind a new gallery business!!

Art & Alchemy Gallery & Studio (previously Kapi Art Space) in Kalorama is a in a stunning location and is by far the most beautiful office I have ever had, and the drive to work up Mount Dandenong is lovely.

We have a gallery space with more than 20 artists work in a range of mediums, including oils, watercolour, ceramics, sculpture, abstract, jewellery and eco dyed clothing. We have a little art themed book shop and art materials section.

We also offer a variety of art classes - this will ideally become the main aspect of the business, so if you are interested in learning how to draw, in using ink or a creative retreat day playing with mixed media and collage to create your own artists book, I encourage you to check out our classes and courses. We have a great variety and will only be adding more as we go.

I'm spending most of my time focused on building the business, so while I probably should do both websites in tandem, it is likely I will continue to be focused on the gallery, so if you are a Melbourne local I encourage you to sign up for the gallery website.

Hopefully I can see you at the gallery! It is set across from the Kalorama lookout overlooking the Silvan Reservoir and is in a building that is about 100 years old; it is a beautiful location and stunning gallery - a beautiful day trip and one where you might just find that perfect piece or art for yourself or as a gift.

Karly

now - Director of Art & Alchemy Gallery & Studio
